What is shearing and how did it happen?
Shearing is the operation aimed at removing the fleece from the body of woolly/wool-producing animals and consists of the first phase of wool processing. Sheep shearing was carried out by breeders, shepherds or professional shearers twice a year, in spring and autumn, thanks to the use of special shears and the immobility to which the sheep was subjected by means of shearing clamps, ropes or the weight of the shearers themselves.
