What is the structure of equine hooves?
Equine hooves are made of a horny covering similar to that of human nails and correspond to the nails of the third toe. The structure of the hoof is mainly composed of the crown, the upper part connected to the rest of the limb, the external covering called hoof wall or wall, and the sole or plantar edge where the horseshoe nails are driven in.
