What is the wheel?
The wheel is a circular disk capable of rotating around an axis that passes through its center (axle) that has a fundamental role in the history of vehicles.
The most basic version of the wheel was obtained by cutting large trunks into circular sections, which were subsequently perfected through debarking, adjusting the circumference and drilling a central hole. This type of wheel had a considerable weight and the evolution towards a lighter solution led to the creation of the spoked wheel, characterized by the presence of linear elements (spokes) that extend radially from the center of the wheel (hub) to the external circumference.
