What is the single yoke and what was it used for?
The single yoke is a wooden tool for attaching a single draft animal, usually an ox, to carts and plows. It consists of a wooden beam that is arched at the point of support on the animal's body, perforated at the ends or equipped with rings to allow the yoke to be attached to the vehicle to be towed (cart) or to the agricultural tool (plow, harrow, etc.) to be pulled.
