The hinny inherits from the horse the short ears, the color of the coat, the thick mane and the neighing. From the donkey, instead, it inherits the height (height at the withers 1.30 – 1.40 meters), the skeletal proportions and the nature.
The hinny is a complex cross to obtain due to the low fertility rate in the mating between stallion and female donkey.
