The cowbell is a metal object that is hung on the collar of animals (once made of wood, today made of leather). It usually has a rounded shape that narrows at the bottom or a typical bell shape.
The cowbell can be made of various metal alloys (iron, brass, steel, bronze). The bronze bell, typical of the German- speaking part of Switzerland, is more recent and is called "bronzina".
