According to a famous phrase attributed (mistakenly) to Albert Einstein, if bees disappeared from the planet, humans would have four years to live.
In addition to drastically reducing the quantity and variety of foods we eat, the disappearance of these insects would affect biodiversity and the functioning of ecosystems, creating serious ecological deficiencies and imbalances. The work done by bees is so important that in some countries where it has disappeared, due to pesticides and pollution, humans have to do it in their place, obviously with poor results.
