What is a plow and what is it used for?
The plough is the main agricultural tool used for tilling the soil, lifting the turf and turning the clods as it moves across the field. In Europe, the plough was introduced around 2500 BC, originally as a hand tool and later adapted to be pulled by animals and finally by tractors. The use of this tool has been influenced by the characteristics of the soil, local customs, and historical and economic contexts.
