The silkworm larva has an elongated cylindrical body, formed by 12 rings and covered with brown hair at birth and white from the second day of life. The first ring corresponds to the head, equipped with 12 eyes, while the last one corresponds to the anal opening, which is preceded by a tail-shaped extension. The silkworm larva breathes through about twenty orifices, called stigmas, with an elliptical shape and black color, located along the entire body.
