The warping reel has the same structure as the spinning wheel but with a reduced use: while the spinning wheel allows the twisting and creation of the yarn and its winding on a bobbin, the warping reel only allows the second action to be carried out with a previously spun yarn. The warping reel was used to unravel the skeins, generally positioned on the arcolaio, or the balls of yarn and wind the yarn on the bobbin intended for warping and weaving.
