What is warping?

Warping is one of the operations preceding weaving and consisted of preparing the warp threads to be mounted on the loom. The threads had to be of the correct length and number for the fabric that was to be created and had to be gathered into bundles (beamings). This operation was carried out thanks to the use of the warping frame.
