What is the warping frame and what was its use?
The warping frame is a tool that allowed the preparation of the warp, which was then mounted on the beam of the loom. There were various types of warping frames, but basically they all had pegs placed at a distance corresponding to the desired length of the warp, around which the threads were passed and tensioned. These threads were then gathered into bundles (beamings) suitable for the fabric to be created.
