What is the milking bucket and what was its use?

The milking bucket is a wooden tub (with slats) of cylindrical shape, often with a larger diameter at the top than at the base, used to collect milk during the milking of cows.
It is not uncommon for these buckets to have features designed to facilitate the collection or transport of milk, such as, for example: a higher wall on one side to better collect the milk, an elongated slat to facilitate the grip, 2 long slats with holes for the insertion of a wooden rod and facilitate transport.
In the mid-twentieth century the wooden bucket was progressively replaced by the one made of zinc sheet, enameled tin or aluminum.
